Embodied Space Workshop: Padua, Italy
July 27 - August 8, 2026
Two-Week Immersive Experience in Movement, Creativity and Spatial Awareness
Join us in the heart of Italy for a two-week Embodied Space workshop in August 2026. Hosted by Embodied Poetics, this program invites artists, performers, architects, sculptors and anyone curious about movement and creativity to explore how the body interacts with space and environment. Set in the stunning rural landscapes near Padua, participants will take part in daily sessions that combine movement, drawing, and hands-on construction.
August in Padua brings a slower rhythm. As the city pauses for summer, its quiet streets and warm light offer a unique setting for focused creative work and reflection.
Within this calm backdrop, the Embodied Space Laboratory becomes a space for exploration—where movement, materials, and ideas intersect. Each day builds toward a deeper understanding of the play of forces that organize space. In the first week, participants will analyze movement through a variety of exercises and stimuli and translate the forms, rhythms, colours and dynamics discovered into plastic and architectural forms made from simple materials: paper, cardboard, wooden sticks, wire etc. This will set a foundation for the second week, where each participant embarks on an individual project. The two-week journey is a practical experience. This logic of doing generates a way of creating that relies more on the dynamic intelligence of the body than on the intellectual reflection that precedes the creative act.
Led by Aurelian Koch, the workshop offers a supportive environment for experimentation and artistic growth. Open to both experienced practitioners and newcomers, it’s an opportunity to expand your creative practice, meet an international community of artists, and spend two inspiring weeks discovering new ways of engaging with movement and space.
